ORDINANCE NO. 14-00 (Amended)
AN ORDINANCE TO ANNEX CERTAIN LANDS INTO THE CITY OF WEST LAFAYETTE (McALISTER)
WHEREAS, there is a certain tract of land located immediately north of
land within the City of West Lafayette, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the landowners of at least fifty-one percent (51%) of the
proposed annexation tract and at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the
total assessed value of the proposed annexation tract have filed a
petition and requested the City of West Lafayette Indiana, to annex the
tract pursuant to Ind. Code § 36-4-3-5; and
WHEREAS, the tract is needed and can be used by the city for its
continued growth and development in the immediate future; and
WHEREAS, the tract is located north and south of Lindberg Road and east
of McCormick Road, and more than 1/8th of the external aggregate boundary
of the tract is continuous with land within the City of West Lafayette and
the tract is more than one hundred fifty (150) feet in width as by law
required; the City at little or no additional cost can provide the tract
with regular common noncapital services and the tract is an appropriate
location for adjacent urban growth and will be serviced by Capital
Improvement Services which are currently planned and programmed for this
area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST LAFAYETTE that:
Section 1. That the following described real estate be
and the same is hereby annexed into and made part of the City of West
Lafayette, Indiana
A part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 11, Township
23 North, Range 5 West, Wabash Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southern line of the
Southeast Quarter of said Section 11, said point being located North 90º
00' 00" West, 337.60 feet from the southeastern corner of the
Southeast Quarter of said Section 11; and intersection with the western
right of way line of McCormick Road; thence North 22º 25' 30" West
along the western right of way line of McCormick Road 1,026.31 feet;
thence North 89º 54' 30" East 471 feet; thence North 00º 46'
00" East 813.37 feet; thence South 89º 32' 00" East 264.91 feet
to the eastern line of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 11; thence
South 00º 34' 30" West along the eastern line of the Southeast
Quarter of said Section 11, 1,016.80 feet; thence North 88º 24' 30"
West 48.78 feet; thence South 01º 35' 30" West 527.18 feet; thence
North 90º 00' 00" East for 412 feet; thence South 00º 00' 00"
West for 217.5 feet to an intersection with the existing West Lafayette
corporation line; thence West along said corporation line 350 feet to the
northeast corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 14; thence South
along the eastern section line of Section 14 approximately 30 feet to the
northeast corner of Lot 1 of Simmon's Subdivision Plat Book A page 53;
thence South 172.98 feet along the eastern property line of Lot 1 to the
southeast corner of said lot; thence West 196.42 feet along the south
property line of Lot 1 to the Southwest corner of said Lot; thence West
approximately 60 feet to the western right of way line of McCormick Road;
thence northwesterly along the western right of way line of McCormick Road
to the intersection with the southern section line of Section 11 and point
of beginning.

134-07103-0016, 134-06900-0186, 134-06800-0407, part of 134-06900-0263,
134-06800-0627, and 134-06800-0385.
Section 2. The annexed real estate shall be a part of
Common Council District 4.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and signing by the Mayor and as provided
by law.
