BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Lafayette that a need now exists for the establishment of a Cumulative Firefighting Building and Equipment Fund for the following purposes:

To provide for the replacement of fire fighting equipment, and to provide for all such purposes authorized by Indiana Code 36-8-14-2(c).

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council will adhere to the provisions of IC 36-8-14 et seq. Proposed tax rate will not exceed $0.013 on each $100 of Assessed Valuation. Said tax rate will be levied beginning with taxes 1997 payable 1998.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that proofs of publication of the public hearing held on the 7th day of July, 1998 and a certified copy of this ordinance be submitted to the State Board of Tax Commissioners of the State of Indiana as provided by law. Said Cumulative Fund is subject to the approval of the State Board of Tax Commissioners.

Duly adopted by the following vote of the members of said Common Council of the City of West Lafayette, this 7th day of July, 1997.
