ORDINANCE NO. 18-00

AN ORDINANCE TO SET THE BIWEEKLY SALARIES OF THE ELECTED OFFICIALS,

CITY OF WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR 2001

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA:

SECTION 1. Purpose

That the purpose of this ordinance is to set the biweekly salaries of all elected officials for the year 2001. (I.C. 36-4-7-2)

SECTION 2. Fixed Salaries

That the total biweekly salary to be paid to each named elected official for the year 2001 shall be:

Office of the Mayor

Office of the Clerk-Treasurer

*The position of Councilor is compensated on a monthly basis.

SECTION 3. Meeting Compensation

That an additional $480.00 shall be appropriated from the General Fund to be used for Meeting Compensation. Such compensation shall be paid to the Area Plan Commission Representative at the rate of $40.00 per month.

SECTION 4.

For Mayor, Clerk-Treasurer, and City Judge, this ordinance will be effective for, and including, the pay period ending January 5, 2001 and will continue through the pay period ending December 21, 2001 For Councilor, this ordinance will be effective for, and including, the pay period ending January 5, 2001 and will continue through the pay period ending December 19, 2003.

SECTION 5.

This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and signing by the Mayor.
