Resolution No. 24-01
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A CASH MANAGEMENT SERVICES
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Investment Policy provides that the
Clerk-Treasurer may contract with a public depository for the operation of
an Investment Cash Management System consistent with I.C. 5-13-11; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk-Treasurer has recommended that the
long-term funds of the Wastewater Treatment Utility be invested through an
Investment Cash Management System in order to meet the City Investment
Policy goals to provide the highest investment return with the maximum
security while meeting the cash flow needs of the City and conforming to
state statutes governing the investment of public funds; and
WHEREAS, the Budget and Finance Committee of the Common
Council, in concurrence with the Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer, have
recommended that the City enter into a Investment Cash Management
Agreement with Fifth Third Bank, Indiana in accordance with the provisions
of I.C. 5-13-11; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety has
approved the Liquid Asset Management Public Funds Agency Agreements with
Fifth Third Bank, Indiana for investment of Wastewater Utility Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WEST LAFAYETTE that:
Section 1
The Liquid Asset Management Public Funds Agency
Agreements for Wastewater Utility Funds with Fifth Third Bank, Indiana are
approved.
Section 2
The Mayor as Presiding Officer of the Common and
Council and the Clerk-Treasurer are authorized to sign the agreement
documents as is necessary.
This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and signing by the Mayor.
